PMP is an image file format associated with the fist model from Sony's Cyber-shot series: the DSC-F1. Released in 1996 as a high-end device, this camera model was considered innovative at the time and was the first to include rotatable lenses. The PMP extension was attached to images stored on the DSC-F1 camera, which could be transferred via an infrared transceiver directly to Sony's DPP-M55 digital color printer. Nowadays PMP images are rare and obsolete.
